In 2020 Starbucks committed to a resource-positive future, formalising environmental goals to cut its carbon, water, and waste footprints by half. As a progression against those goals, the company commits to Carbon Neutral Green Coffee and to conserve water usage in green coffee processing by 50%, both by 2030.

Starbucks opened its tenth Farmer Support Center in Brazil in August 2021. To date, Starbucks has trained more than 200,000 farmers providing free access to education and resources through its Farmer Support Centers.
The future of coffee is entwined with the future of coffee farmers. So we nurture those relationships the same way they nurture their beans. OUR GOAL is to provide 100 million trees to farmers by 2025 as part of a commitment to one billion coffee trees through the industry-wide Sustainable Coffee Challenge.
Starbucks UK launches a pilot with Arla cooperative farmers around the UK. The program seeks to identify innovative new farming practices to help reduce the emissions associated with dairy production that can be scaled across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
